The Dream Tree Difference

Dream Tree offers organic mattresses, pillows, and bedding for the whole family. We only use the very best organic materials. Every inch of our products are made with meticulous craftsmanship. Our attention to detail sets us apart and our commitment to quality brings together comfort and sustainability.

Our Materials

Our beds contain hand selected materials from vetted organic suppliers

Organic Dunlop Latex

Natural latex is nothing short of amazing. It can last for well over 30 years without changing shape. Latex supports the contours of your body without sacrificing durability. It’s naturally hypoallergenic and resistant to mold, mildew, bacteria, and fungus.

Organic Wool

We exclusively use organic New Zealand wool sourced from small family farms. Each farm is vetted for quality and we ensure the animals are always treated with respect.

Along with being soft and naturally antibacterial, wool is the perfect insulator and thermoregulator, making it ideal for mattresses. Wool is also fire resistant and turns to ash when exposed to flame.

Wool can be itchy. Many people who assume they’re allergic to wool really aren’t— they just have extra sensitive skin. The wool used in our beds is always encased in organic cotton canvas so it never touches your skin.

Organic Cotton

We use only the best organic cotton batting for our beds. Grown in the USA, we use only the strongest and most desirable cotton fibers.

Most mattress manufacturers use linter cotton as it’s more affordable. At Dream Tree, we only use staple and mote cotton fibers because of their superior strength and durability.

These materials are naturally fireproof.

No nasty chemicals and flame retardants necessary.

A note on allergies…

All of our Materials are minimally processed and without chemicals.  Organic Wool and Organic Latex  are naturally dust mite resistant, and mold and mildew resistant.   As a result, many of the most common allergens in the home and bedroom are reduced or eliminated when sleeping on a Dream Tree bed, giving allergy sufferers a comfortable place to rest and wake up. Mold and mildew spores can also have an impact on the health of people who are not allergic, sometimes severe. Reducing your risk for mold or mildew is a very important step to a healthy home.

Organic latex contains no synthetic materials, no chemicals, and no fire retardants. Therefore, organic latex does not outgas, making it safe for children and adults alike. Unlike many foam mattresses that are made with petroleum products, latex doesn’t need to be aired out and is 100% safe.

Wool also helps to reduce dust mites. Dust mites are the biggest source of airborne allergies in the United States, and since wool disperses moisture so quickly, dust mites can’t thrive in its low humidity. And because it stays so dry, wool also resists mold and mildew. So for people with allergies, wool can offer some major benefits.

Latex Allergies

For those suffering latex allergies; 1-6% of the general public, almost all latex allergies are caused by synthetic latex and are contact allergies. For people who are allergic even to natural latex, the organic latex used in our mattresses is made using processes that eliminates a significant portion of the protein associated with the allergy. Plus, the latex cores of our beds are inside three layers of wool and cotton, so direct skin contact never occurs.

Wool Allergies

Actual wool allergies are usually due to a chemical reaction to the lanolin in wool. All our wool products are inside cotton cases and no skin contact ever takes place.

Though our wool is impeccably clean, it is very minimally processed, so it does smell like wool. The scent is faint, it fades fairly quickly and, in fact, we find it pleasant. But for people with high sensitivity, we recommend getting a sample first.

Our Customized Approach

All beds are designed in layers, but most of the time those layers don’t come apart. This causes premature compression and makes it difficult to flip and air out your mattress. It’s also not ideal for comfort and long-term support.

There’s only so many customizations you can make when you can’t take the layers apart. Instead of getting a new mattress topper to support your body as you age or heal from an injury, you’re forced to get a whole new bed. This is both costly and wasteful. It’s also totally unnecessary.

The Dream Tree approach offers a fully customized solution that fits your body and your budget. We know that your body and your needs will change over time. That’s why we’ve made it easy for you to swap our components of your bed with total ease.

Over time the wool in your mattress will compress. We offer refurbashing for all of our shikibutons, and cotton core mattresses.  You’ll never have to buy a new bed again!
